Last week our class did some learning about native birds , animals  and bugs ,my native bird, was a Kakapo .We made some beautiful slides. Please check out my work!we had to go to different websites to view a lot of information. We then recorded the information and put it in to the slide.

I chose a kakapo because they are a fascinating  bird they live in the bush.Did you Know that Kakapos are solo. Another cool fact is they have glow in the in the the dark eyes (I really like that fact)  We used something called structured overview.

What good are wings without the courage to fly ?

Last Friday it was pink shirt day, we all wore pink .we have to were pink because we need to
speak up that is why we wear pink. We need to
support the people that don't have the courage to speak up.

For pink shirt day our teacher said that we had to paint 4 pink  feathers per classmate. we had different shades of pink feathers.  Later our teacher cut the pink feathers and put it in a angel shaped paper.  It had a sentence above it , What good are wings without the courage to fly.It might not make any sense ... it means you have a talent, but what good is it when you have no courage to us it.

Why do we need to stand up to bullies. I think if we all stand up, the world could change into a better place.

My pohutukawa art

Last term our class did some pohutukawa art. I was really excited, because I love art. We were doing this because we were learning about the native forest in New Zealand . We had to make a the branches the right size, not to small not to big, that would be a bit tricky. The flowers I think are going to be easy.

We started with some photos that we had to draw. We were using dye to make it more beautiful .We could use black and white crayons. The white was when we put the dye it looks more realistic and the black for the outlying We  first drew the branches, then the flowers . The first one was a draft. It was very soft , but on the hard copy it would be way rougher .

We  then started on the hard copy, it was going to be so much fun. My branches and flowers were perfect to me . It took as a few days to finish our art work. When I finished my art work it looked very beautiful.
